KHULNA, Dec 26, 2024 (BSS) – A daylong free medical camp and free medicine distribution was held under the initiative of Zia Primary Health Care Center at Munshibari of Nagar Sreerampur under Haridhali Union in Paikgachha upazila here.

Over 500 destitute patients received medical services and medicines.

Under the management of Chairman of Board of the Directors of Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha (BSS) and Joint Editor of Dainik Ittefaq Anwar Aldin, cardiologist Dr. Magfur Rahman of PG Hospital conducted the medical camp.

Associate Professor of National Institute of Cancer Research and Hospital Dr Abdus Salam and Dr. Abdul Majid, also Paikgachha Upazila BNP President, provided services to the patients.

Khulna Medical College Hospital physicians Dr. Ashiq, Dr. Hafiz, Dr. Pratyasha, Dr. Sifat, Dr. Ayan and Dr. Asif also extended medical services.

Journalist HM Shafiul Islam, President of Nirapad Sarak Chai (NISCHA) Paikgachha, social worker Sheikh Oliul Islam and Maulana GM Mosharraf Hossain were among the organizers of the free medical camp.

Distinguished personalities of the area Sardar Khairul Islam, Sardar Mejbar, BNP leader and former Chairman Shahadat Hossain Dablu, President of Kapilmuni Banik Samiti Anwarul Islam, Headmistress of Meherunnesa Girls’ School Rahima Akhter Shampa, Associate Professor of Sun Yat-Sen University, Guangzhou, China GM Aminul Islam, journalist and human rights activist SM Mostafizur Rahman Parvez, teacher of Rathkhola Secondary School Partha Halder were present.

Patients with different ailments including cold, fever, cough, skin diseases, diabetes, kidney problems, heart, gastric, gynecological problems, orthopedic, eye, child diseases, ear, nose and throat and many others diseases received treatment from morning to evening.

They were also given medicines worth about Taka 50,000 along with the prescriptions.

The medicines and financial support for the entire free medical camp were provided by country’s renowned infertility expert Dr. S. M. Khaliduzzaman, Chairman of Bangladesh Fertility Hospital.
